About

The Engineering Education Ph.D. program in the College of Engineering was founded in 2024. Drawing on expertise from the College of Engineering and the Neag School of Education, the Engineering Education Ph.D. program provides students with the opportunity to work at the intersection of several exciting disciplines. Our program is situated at the college-level and draws faculty and students from across the university – both inside and outside of engineering.

Engineering Education Research is a scholarly discipline that uses many of the methods from education and the social sciences to ask and answer important questions in engineering education. Graduates from Engineering Education programs are well-equipped to work in a variety of fields, including higher education, K-12 education, informal educational venues such as museums or science centers, educational administration, government and public policy – especially around STEM issues, workforce development, data science, and AI.
