The College of Engineering Ph.D. in engineering education is a program that connects education research, theory and practice in engineering and trains engineers to provide distinctive higher educational experiences through practices of experiential learning, and other best practices in education.
Overview

The College of Engineering Ph.D. in Engineering Education will prepare candidates to successfully perform world class engineering education research, deduce the results of that research to other engineering education colleagues and convert their findings into classroom practice.
This program will provide an introduction to different of analysis, concepts, theories, models, methodologies and frameworks that are essential to engineering education. As a result, this will equip students to use a variety of quantitative research ways and apply them in their different areas of specialization for the betterment of their scholarship and expertise.
Benefits
By completing the Ph.D. in engineering education program, candidates will be able to demonstrate the following learning concepts and methodologies:
- Conduct high-quality educational research and/or assessment and evaluation in a variety of settings, including higher education, K-12 settings, non-profits, and private industry.
- Synthesize information from multiple fields to contribute to knowledge generation at the intersection of engineering and the social sciences.
- Bring a socio-cultural perspective of engineering work with a focus on justice, diversity, equity, and inclusivity to whatever field they choose to work in.
- Integrate evidence-based practices from engineering education research into educating the next generation.
